The Bridge of Peace (Tbilisi, Georgia)

Мост Мира в Тбилиси

The Bridge of Peace was unveiled on the 6th of May, 2010 (Saint George’s day). This hanging wave-like bridge crosses Mtkvari (Kura) river and connects Erakli II street with Rike Park. Two river banks are like two eras: historical architecture and modern part of the city.

Locals were worried by building such and extraordinary bridge in Tbilisi.

But anyway, the bridge was built. During the unveiling ceremony, the president of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili said: “This bridge symbolises the path of Georgia from the past to better future. This is a bridge between the greatest Georgian culture and its present development”.

We intentionally came here in the evening, in order to show you the beauty of the bridge designed by Italian architect – Michele De Lucci. The length of the bridge is 156 meters, the width is 5 meters. It has more then 30 thousands bulbs and about 240 sensors that are connected into interactive lightening system.

We hope you like it. See you soon!
