Jvaris Mama church is located in old Tbilisi at the junction of Jerusalem and Afkhazi streets. It is considered that Vakhtang Gorgasal took part in its construction in 5th century. So reasonably, the church couldn’t remain undamaged and stay and its original state till our days. In 15th century, the church was rebuilt in its current form.

Unfortunately, the church was under reconstruction at the moment of our visit, so we couldn’t see its beautiful frescoes located inside. But we will certainly try to see them on our next visit to Georgia.
