We are in Kazakhstan’s steppes again. And it is winter here.
At first we decided to go from Novosibirsk to Baku by russian roads, but our navigator proposed “to cut” 350 km through Kazakhstan 🙂 We couldn’t miss this proposal and decided to check if there are any roads at all 😀
Novosibirk – Omsk – Petropavlovsk – Kostanay – nothing new. The road to Petropavlovsk is pretty good, Petropavlovsk-Kustanay is usable (preferably go by south branch of the road).
But what will be on Kostanay – Aktobe – Atyrau – Astrakhan part?
Kustanay – Aktobe is quite good (ignoring small 30 km part of the road – it is very damaged). But we’re not afraid of bad roads leading us to scenic views 🙂

Roads here start in infinity and end up in infinity.
We met a fox. It showed us long-fox-mode, short-fox-mode and stopped a little for we could take a picture 🙂
As usually, we start with the dawn and go until a sunset. Rare cars disappear at all. Trucks are going to sleep. Let’s search for a hotel – it will be a long way tomorrow!
