Walking along Batumi in the evening

Батуми. Грузия.

Batumi is a very interesting and attractive city. It is the place where bright colours of modern hotels and casinos are being mixed with the history and Georgian culture. As Batumi is a resort-city, there are a lot of places that can be visited by tourists. We have already seen The Botanical Garden, Petra Fortress and the ropeway, so let’s take a look on dancing fountains and a sea-front!

As our little hotel is located aside from the city center, our walk will begin with diving into Georgian culture that I have already mentioned 🙂 The first thing we met on our way was ancient Volga. It was modified to carry a lot of freight. We have already seen such tuning on other cars, but it was hard to take a picture, because those were moving quite fast. This car is not loaded at all, but believe me, locals can load it much more then you can imagine. And heavy load doesn’t have any influence on driving speed!

Dancing fountains

There are two places with dancing fountains in Batumi. The first place is located not far from the sea-front, Alphabet Tower and Technological Univercity and Radisson hotel. It is dancing all day long.

This fountain looks like a usual one. But its streams are beating together with music.

Another fountain is a larger one. It is located on the other side of the city. In a small lake. It is dancing from 8pm till 10pm.

The fountain is as beautiful as its melodies 🙂

As we mentioned above, modern sights are located among the historical buildings. We didn’t even expect to park our car right near Sergey Yesenin’s house!

By the way, you can use bicycle to move around the city. There are many rental points everywhere.

Sea-front

There are statues and installations at the sea-front that were designed for attracting and entertaining tourists.

Here you can take a picture of yourself with Mikhail D’Alfons, the founder of theBotanical Garden.

… or walk through the colonnade built in 1934. It used to be an entrance to the beach 🙂

It is probably the most notable place in Batumi.

And it is much more impressive in the night!
