Akhaltsikhe Fortress was one of the places we scheduled for a visit. We rarely use highways, so we decided to go through Ajaria mountains.
The first interesting place we found on our way was Dundalo stone bridge. It was built in 16th century.

The road is curvy…

We’re reaching the snow…
The road becomes more and more narrow. It is hard to pass one another…
Going up. Mountains are covered with a snow.
We were happy to see this sigh!
This sign promised us to see Gordedzi Ski Resort!
But closer look was not so promising…
We tried to reach the ropeway.
There is no one around. And even though snow cats are being used to clean the road, the place seems to be abandoned.
Also we found out that this place is a dead end… No one cleans the pass and this place was the last we could reach in winter. The road from Batumi to Akhaltsikhe can be used only in summer.
No luck… We have to go back. We’re parking on the snowy edge to pass oncoming traffic by.
And we’re back in spring! These strange constructions are being used as drinking bowls for cattle.
There is one more Ski resort in Kedlebi village. We skipped it in the morning in order to save our time. But let’s take a look as we have a lot of time now 🙂
Trust no one 😀 There are no Ski Resorts here. The only thing we found is a broken ski lift that is being used as a hanger 🙂

There are lots of sightseeings in Ajaria! Actually, as everywhere in Georgia… It will take months to see everything!
